You write also that the language train has left the station. I think it depends what train you're talking about. Here is the misunderstanding you have of `language' in the posting I sent out. If you're talking about a traditional grammar-lexis approach to language then you may have a point, the train may be on its way out (hardly left), but that is not what I was advocating at all. In fact, the focus on language I was advocating has not yet arrived in the station, unfortunately its one of those pedestrian models which seems to take ages to get anywhere, but come it will. It's a focus on `language support' and that is very different from grammar-lexis approach as I'm sure you'd agree.
